Sunday Dinner

Did I mention what a great cook my husband is? Tonight, he served up his famous enchiladas and we invited my parents (Nana and Nani) over. Jaidan gets so giddy and excited when we all get together!

Birthday Party Double Header

Jaidan had his fill of cake these last few days. Two of his pals celebrated their birthdays this weekend. What a great weekend for parties, we enjoyed beautiful weather with highs in the 70's. First, Alex had us over for his fire-engine themed bash - a fun filled morning with sidewalk chalk drawing, and playing outside. Then, on Sunday, we celebrated Jaidan's friend Karis' birthday at Palaestra, an indoor gym. The kids enjoyed bouncing, tumbling, parachutes and a special visit from Minnie Mouse!

Happy 3rd birthday to Alex and happy 2nd birthday Karis!! We had so much fun celebrating with you!

How does this child manage to find cars wherever we go?

Alex is so excited to open presents!

Second party of the weekend - Karis with Minnie Mouse!

How cute is she in her Minnie Mouse dots?!

Don't mind me, I'm just eating my cake!

Jaidan's lunch

Daddy (aka Jaidan's personal chef) once in awhile whips up Jaidan's lunch. This week's menu? Roasted Red Pepper hummus and cream cheese pinwheels, peanut butter crackers, and cubed canteloupe, which Manish diced himself (unlike Mommy, who buys the pre-cut version at the grocery store.)

Pajama Party

We had so much fun this morning at our "Pancakes, Pajamas and Piggies" party for our MOPS playdate! Esther hosted the soiree and we enjoyed yummy breakfast foods while the kiddos played. It was so nice relaxing in our PJ's - this is my kind of party!

Jaidan headed straight for the - you guessed it - CARS! I seriously sometimes wonder if he is going to be an auto mechanic when he grows up...

Playdating

Jaidan had a fun week of friends at the house. The week started with a visit from my friend Davina and her twin boys Shaan and Milan. And today, Trinh, her little ones Ellie and Finley, Celena and her girls Sofia and Bella dropped by. Jaidan loved having company over. We are lucky that our neighborhood happens to be home to many children that are right around Jaidan's age!

Aren't they cute?

Flashback

I haven't really had anything to post because we haven't done anything too exciting lately, so I'm posting a pic of Jaidan from back in the day. This is one taken when he was 9 months old in his Indian outfit. Watch out Bollywood!

Waterbaby!

Today was Jaidan's last day in the Waterbabies class at his swim school. He has mastered holding his breath under water for 10 seconds and will move on to the Super Waterbabies class next week! We are so proud of our little swimmer!

Let's go UConn!

Think we got everything!

Kisses for Daddy!

Last Friday we made a last minute decision to go to Austin. As Manish was looking at the UConn Basketball schedule, he realized they were set to play UT on Saturday. Sooo, we scored GREAT $15 tickets to the game, booked a hotel room, packed the car, and headed down south. We had a great weekend watching the game (UConn won by one point in overtime), eating Tex-Mex and meeting my dear friend Jennifer and her husband Doug on Sunday for brunch before heading back home. My camera battery zonked out in the middle of our trip so I couldn't get pics from our dinner or brunch!

2011!

This is a sideways shot of Jaidan saying "Happy New Year!" Not the best shot, but the best I could get!

2010 was an eventful year for us. It began with Nisha's beautiful wedding in India, which will always be a cherished memory. It was the last time we saw my grandmother and uncle and I am still in disbelief that they are no longer with us. We've also had happier news of loved ones' engagements, pregnancies and new babies. Such is the ebb and flow of life.

Jaidan began the year crawling and very much like a baby and he ended the year running, talking and singing! (His favorite tune these days is "Old MacDonald had a Farm")

We pray that 2011 brings great joy, peace, meaningful connections with loved ones, enlightenment and good health. Happy New Year!

Christmas 2010

Christmas day was so much fun! Jaidan opened his presents and Santa brought him everything he wanted. He loved his new talking Elmo toys, and even though Elmo has the most annoying voice, if it makes Jaidan happy, that's all that matters, right? After opening gifts, we went to Neil's parents house for a lovely Christmas lunch. Jaidan's favorite part of the day was a yummy slice of cake for dessert!

Opening my Elmo gifts from Santa (Nishamasi)

Yay, a Tickle-Me Elmo that laughs and has a stiff arm that waves frantically when you tickle him

And an Elmo camera too? Gee Santa, you really shouldn't have.
