Day at the zoo!

We visited the Dallas Zoo today. A gorgeous morning - a high of 80 today! Jaidan and his friends enjoyed the Children's area with a petting zoo, pony rides, park, and bird feeding station. LOVE this zoo, it was our first time there and we'll definitely be going back!

We finished the morning with a carousel ride - Jaidan's favorite part of the day!

Tired...and pondering...

...today was a loong day. And on days like today, I ask you moms out there who are reading this blog - what exactly is it that motivates you to have a second child? Other than wanting to give your child a sibling? Is it because your first child was such a breeze? Or you don't mind the chaos? Or you are a natural night owl? Maybe temporary insanity?

I love children, don't get me wrong. My little one is a joy beyond words. But this parenting thing - it's hard work people!!

Boys will be boys

Jaidan has been getting his hands dirty more often lately. Whenever we are outside, he collects a handful of mud, dirt or bark and makes a pile or throws it somewhere. Most of the time it lands on his head. Bathtime is a little extra time consuming these days. Gotta really get under those fingernails to get them nice and clean!

What a week!

We had an icy blast through Dallas/Fort Worth this week and everything shut down. Everything. Jaidan's school, all of his classes, even Manish's office was closed. He had a conference in New York and was able to get out just in time on Wednesday. So what did Jaidan and I do while being snowed in? We made s'mores, baked cookies, decorated Valentines for his class, played with neighborhood friends, and snuggled! Honestly, I have really enjoyed my time with Jaidan these past few days. It was nice not to have to rush and be somewhere. He is a pretty cool little guy to hang out with!
